Short Biography

 

Mark Spybey started his career with Zoviet-France in the late eighties. After moving to Canada in 1992 from his native England, he formed Dead Voices On Air, who have subsequently released seven albums. He typically uses childrens toys, ethnic instruments and his voice, heavilly processed to make what he decribes as "pan-ambient" music. He was a founding member of Download ( formed out of the ashes of Skinny Puppy ) and has released cd's under the name Propeller.

His most recent collaboration is as a member of Michael Karoli's "Sofortkontakt ! " for the Can Solo Projects Shows in Europe. He played with Damo Suzuki's Network during their North American Tour of 1998. He has also collaborated extensively with others, including work with Gvoon, Jarboe, Genesis.P.Orridge, Mick Harris, The Teargarden, James Plotkin, Ryan Moore, Darryl Neudorf, Michael Rother, Dieter Moebius, I Am Spoonbender and Jean-Yves Theriault.

He has over 40 releases to his credit and has toured Europe and North America with various projects.
